Brief Profile

 

Tony is a Software Engineer by profession with over 15 years of experience in ICT, and various skills in Systems Design and Development in Desktop, Web Based and Mobile Applications. He has worked with several Relational Database Management System including Oracle, Microsoft SQL server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. Tony has worked in different sectors including Health, Civil Society and currently in Food Security sector in East Africa (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda). Most recently he has been setting up M&E systems for food security programs and Digital Data Migra-tion using Mobile devices. Tony has worked and consulted for various international and local organizations among them Strathmore University, KEMRI/Wellcome Trust Research Programme, Pact Inc., Act!, Danya International, MSH, GVEP International, TechnoServe, Viwango, KALRO and Research Solutions Africa. He has experience with different funding agencies including USAID, DFID, CIDA, FORD Foundation, Safaricom, Vodacom and Coca-Cola.

 

Tony holds a Bachelor in Information System from University of Hertfordshire, and currently pursuing his Master’s program in Applied Computing specializing in Health-Informatics from the University of Nairobi.

 

Some of the other key strength areas include formal training in Monitoring and Evaluation and Organizational Capaci-ty Assessment and have carried out ICT assessment for 10 National Health related NGO’s. Restructuring of their Data Processing functions and setting up an elaborate process for field data collection, analysis to final archival. Integration of the mobile collection platform (SurveyTOGO) to R and linking it to a MySQL database using API

 

·         Regional Management Information System Advisor (East Africa): TechnoServe, Jul 2013 – Dec 2016 (3 years 6 months)

 

Providing support to regular EA project and country-level M&E efforts and lead in developing systems for tracking and reporting the progress of attaining the results of Program M&E Frameworks & link these with reporting to MIS. Migration of all country programs from paper data collection to digital data collection using mobile devices.


·         ICT Officer: Danya International, May 2012 – June 2013 (1 year 4 months)

 

Conduct ICT Civil Society Organization assessment for 10 National NGOs and capacity build on various ICT and data quality areas requiring improvements. Implementation of M&E tools and developed an Information System for data capturing to track CSO activities and technical assistance given.

 

·         Database Administrator: Act Change Transform!, December 2010 – April 2012 (1 year 5 months)

 

Developing of a web based Grants Management, Monitoring and Evaluation and Capacity Development database for the Kenyan Civil Society Strengthening Program (KCSSP) needs.
